31 Bits
On a trip to Uganda, a group of college women witnessed incredible Ugandan women creating jewelry out of paper. After seeing this skill, the girls knew that if they could fine-tune this craft and create a demand for the product, there would be a market for it. After many prayers and a lot of hard work, Thirty One Bits is what it is today: a business employing artisans in Uganda and Indonesia creating beautiful, fair-trade, ethically crafted jewelry and bags. Thirty One Bits seeks to alleviate the burden of poverty by not only providing jobs to artisans, but by holistically supporting their workers by focusing on four pillars: financial sustainability, physical and mental wellness, social support, and community impact. By focusing on the whole person, Thirty One Bits is able to create high-quality and trendy products, while establishing a long lasting impact on the lives of those who make the products you purchase.
